How to use a dishwasher:When you are a first time user to use a dishwasher, you might be interested to know how to use a dishwasher. If you are not sure of how to use a dishwasher, don’t worry you are not the only one. Follow these simple steps to use a dishwasher easily
Step 1: Load the dishwasher:
First step is to rinse your dishes. If you keep the dirty dishes in your dishwasher, they will not be cleaned as expected. So, before placing the dirty vessels in the dishwasher, run the vessels under tap water so that all the food, condiments and other substances will be removed. You don’t need to wash with a brush to do this. You just need to make sure that there is no excess food on the plate when you place it in a dishwasher.
Load the bottom rack: On the bottom rack, load dishes like casserole dishes, plates, pots, bowls and pans. Make sure that most of the dishes face the spray nozzle of your dishwasher. Place the vessels at an angle slightly. This helps to clean the vessels thoroughly.
-Platters and Flat pots should be placed near the back of the dishwasher
– Load the silverware in the silverware rack.
– Make sure that the silver dishes and stainless steel do not touch each other so that they don’t cause a chemical reaction which can damage the dishes.
After loading the bottom rack, now is the time to load the top rack: Mugs and glasses can be placed on the top rack at an angle so that the insides can be washed easily.
Load the detergent:
Now load the dishwasher with right amount of detergent:
You can use a dishwasher liquid or pods. Generally you load the dishwasher with one dishwasher pod. If you are using a dishwasher liquid, check the detergent label to see how much to add. Dont add excess thinking that it can wash the vessels easily. This is a biggest misconception. If you load the dishwasher with excess detergent, all the detergent sticks to the vessels, making them hard to use. You need to wash the vessels again to remove that detergent
Step 2: Running the Dishwasher:
Run the lighest cycle for dishes which you use for the week for drinking, eating and cooking. In short use the light cycle for dishes which are not extremely dirty.
Choose more intense cycle for dirtier dishes:
Choose more intense cycle for dirty dishes: Heavy cycle is needed for those dirty dishes which were used for heavy cooking or baking. Greasy dishes would benefit from a high temperature wash.
Air dry: If you need to use the dishes immediately, use air dry. But if you want to save energy skip the dry cycle and allow them to air dry in the rack.
Be cautious while using plastics because they can be dislodged easily during the wash due to their light weight.
Dont use dishwasher for the following items:
Children’s glasses with designs
Cast iron, sterling silver, wood, pewter and aluminum
