How to scan documents in Android Phone???
In this article, I will show you how to scan documents or papers in your Android Phone. The best way to scan documents is through the Google Drive app, which comes pre-installed on pretty much every Android device these days. There are some other ways also to scan your documents through some apps which are available on Google Play Store. First, we will discuss how to scan documents with Google Drive App.
How to scan documents in Android Phone with Google Drive App:
Open Google Drive app in your mobile. Tap “+” button in the lower-right corner of the home screen.
When the menu slides up from the bottom, select “Scan”.
It may ask for permission to access the phone’s camera. If so, tap on “Allow”.
That’s it, Place your document in view of the camera on your device. Now you can scan your documents or papers. After scanning your documents, use crop button to adjust size of the document.
You have three options immediately after scanning something:
- Tap the plus icon to add more pages to the document.
- To redo a scan, tap the circular arrow in the middle.
- Tap the check mark icon to finish and upload the document to Google Drive.
Here are some apps which are available on Google Play Store to scan your documents or papers:
1. Adobe Scan :
Adobe Scan will automatically detect the document when pointed at and scan and save it automatically. All docs are saved in the cloud giving you less control. If you are not happy with the result, you can edit and rearrange the border later. You don’t even have to click the button. It is accurate. It comes with OCR technology which you can use to extract text from the scanned document. You can save the document as PDF in the Adobe cloud and ability to combine multiple files. Adobe offers 5 GB of free storage. The app is free to use with no ads but there is no direct support for 3rd party cloud storage platforms like Drive or Dropbox. if you want additional features like doc signing, PDF to MS Office supported formats, and ability to combine multiple files, you will have to subscribe to Adobe PDF Pack.
2. Cam Scanner :
Cam Scanner has 3 plans:
Basic Account (Free): This version is free to use but you will have to pay $1.99 to remove ads, watermark, and auto-upload to cloud storage. This version gets you 200M of cloud storage to sync across devices. You can Customize watermarks on docs and Invite up to 10 collaborators to view and comment on your docs documents. And it supports third party cloud storage to upload all your docs to EverNote, Google Drive, Dropbox, One Drive.

Business Version (6.99 USD/Month): This version offers you all the premium account features and other additional features like- All group members share one or multiple group Folders, Group members can upload documents to group folders, Group Administrator can view / examine / download / manage all documents in group folders and Group Administrator can set the access for group member to view documents scanned by the others.
